LUXEMBOURG 101: 3 Wonderful things about the tiny nation

Luxembourg 101: WONDERFUL things about the tiny nation

Imagine a place with free state-of-the-art public transportation, clean streets you can almost go barefoot, and castles just like the one you have seen in the Disney fairytale movies.

Well, such a place exists, Luxembourg.

As you might know, Luxembourg is a tiny European country, bang in the middle of European giants France and Germany, that explains why French has commonly spoken in Luxembourg city the city that I spent four days there in a short vacation, you hear the familiar bonjour when you enter a coffee shop.

Now before I go and tell you three wonderful things about Luxembourg, be aware this is a positive review and if you are a cynic, you might feel better about yourself if you will not read this post now, but I feel you might still be curious to read on.

Number One: Free Public Transport

Imagine, that you can take the bus, train, and tram free of charge.

You might like the sound of that and best yet it's good and reliable.

The city and country are well connected and extremely safe although like in all countries you find the occasional public transport weirdo.

I will give public transport a ten out of ten, not only because it's free but how organized and reliable it is.

Now do not worry you do not have to visit them to get on a bus or train but this was a wonderful thing that I thought was worth sharing.

NUMBER 2: Beautiful Landscapes and a Vibrant city.

Luxembourg has a lot to offer from good food and beautiful landscapes.

The country is extremely beautiful with insane views and well-organized public spaces. If you are like me and love to walk around cities and explore villages and their country site, Luxembourg is worth a visit.

Luxembourg has a charm to it with its castles blended in a vibrant modern city that entertains thousands of people daily.

I ate some good food there too, like knuidellin which is like gnocchi with bacon and cheese, was lovely, they have great pastries like croissants and madleans and they have a carbonated apple juice drink which I grew very fond of whilst on my stay.

Be aware this country is not cheap, it's considered the richest in the world, and restaurants and accommodation may get a bit pricey for the budget traveler.

However, the beautiful landscape, walking in the woods, good customer service, safety, and reliability of the place give the country a nine out of ten. I might be biased but I love central and northern European landscapes they have such a charm to them. They are just lovely to look at and you can tell that Luxembourg has a rich history from the architecture and gastronomy.

NUMBER 3: FRIENDLY PEOPLE

The people of Luxembourg in my experience are very warm, helpful, and kind. Although I am an English speaker, I was surprised how many people spoke the language fluently and how ready they were to speak to me and assist me if I needed any help. Customer care is state of the art and politeness is everywhere. They speak French and if you do not speak French it's fine they would not get frustrated if you do not speak their language and they will still attempt to help you if they do not speak English. Even older people spoke some English when I visited a town on the border to Germany where I ate those amazing sausages and fries and ate a divine apple pie with cream.

They are just friendly, accepting and their younger generation is so hipster which I find quite cool.

They do deserve a ten out of ten on this one.

If you are wondering to visit Luxembourg, keep the positives I listed in mind. This country has a lot to offer and I am not surprised by the prosperity the people enjoy thanks to their well-planned system of governance and investment in the social welfare of their people.
